Pictures of the Land

This Spring, it became clear that the surrounding acreages would be developed into small 5-acre mini farms by the owners. This development, while valuable in its own right had the disadvantages of eliminating the broad-acre farming which is natural to the land, closing off the open spaces, compromising wild and forest lands and reducing the open landscape which is such a valuable feature of healthy community life.

We spoke with the owners of the land and, though eager to develop the land as they had been planning, they were willing to sell under fairly constrained conditions.

The sale of the 175 acres of land around Ananda Center at Laurelwood (dubbed Ananda in the Valley for now), was negotiated and we have made a downpayment on this property. As of late May, the property was transfered to Ananda Laurelwood, and is legally part of Ananda Center at Laurelwood.

To accomplish this purchase, we made a substantial downpayment, and are seeking funding for the balance, which is due in November of this year.

Your participation in any of the programs that are developing daily at the Ananda Center at Laurelwood Campus infuses you with renewed inspiration and feeds the income stream which helps pay for the purchase and development of these facilities.
